Advanced Concealed Carry Skills - June 20, 2026
Taught by Aaron Acklin and Nate Parker, this class covers the things you wish they taught you in your CHCL permit class.
Go beyond the simple permit class, and learn the things that aren't covered in the typical CHCL class. Advanced Concealed Carry Skills is meant to teach a person how to effectively carry and deploy a concealed firearm.
Course Topics
Realistic application of firearm safety principles
The IWB and AIWB draw process
Critical marksmanship skills
Tactical anatomy and accuracy standards
The importance of concepts like recency and automaticity
Basic understanding of use of force principles
Managing unknown contacts
A primer on retention shooting
Student Gear List
A reliable handgun
Sig P320 series pistols are not permitted in this class. If you would like to arrange a loaner, we would be more than happy to supply you with one if you contact us.
At least 3 magazines. If your magazines hold less than 10 rounds, bring 5.
A suitable holster that completely covers the trigger guard.
Serpa holsters and cheap nylon holsters are not permitted in this class. If you require a loaner or holster recommendations, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
Eye and ear protection appropriate for the range. Electronic ear pro recommended.
500 rounds of suitable training ammunition. More is better.
Camp chair, snacks, drinks, and other comfort items.
Weather appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for all day on the range.
This will be a fast paced class, with a start time of 8am, a 1 hour break for lunch, and wrap-up around 6pm. Come ready to work. While this course is not intended to be a CHCL or Enchanced CHCL course, it is designed to meet and exceed the requirements of those courses.

Instructor Information
Aaron Acklin (ASP #12-778) has been a firearms instructor for over a decade, is active in practical shooting sports such as USPSA and IDPA, has completed the Rangemaster Instructor Development Course, is a Modern Samurai Project endorsed instructor for the State of Arkansas, and is active in the BJJ community as a brown belt.
Nate Parker has spent two decades in the security industry and has been a firearms instructor for 15 years. He currently holds certifications from the NRA Law Enforcement Division for handgun, shotgun, and patrol rifle. He has also completed the Rangemaster Instructor Development Course, Shotgun IDC, PTG Church Security Instuctor course, and is also a certified RAiDER instructor.
Together, Aaron and Nate bring nearly three decades of firearms instructor experience and thousands of hours of firearms training experience to the table.
